Senior Java Backend Engineer (Java/Spring)

Location: Onsite at client and partner sites in Luxembourg

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, test, and deploy Java 17+ applications, web portals, components, and libraries using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement backend services and integrations using REST and SOAP web services.
• Work with technical leads, team leads, business analysts, developers, and testers to understand requirements and maintain solution consistency.
• Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD processes using tools such as Maven, Git, and Azure DevOps.
• Deploy and monitor applications in on-premises and cloud-based containerized environments.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 17; Java 21 or higher is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Spring Framework 6.x and Spring Boot 3.x or higher.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate, REST and SOAP web services, and asynchronous communication using Kafka.
• Experience with JUnit or TestNG and mocking frameworks such as Mockito.
• Experience with Maven, Git, CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps, and Docker.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization using OIDC/OAuth.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and functional teams.
• Ability to complete a criminal background check before employment.

Nice to have

• Full-stack web development experience using a JavaScript framework, preferably React.
