Software Dev Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot in an AWS-hosted distributed environment.
• Write production-quality code with unit and integration test coverage.
• Build and operate fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable, and cost-effective distributed systems.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues during on-call rotations.
• Contribute to GenAI and AI-powered tools that improve development productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM field, with at least 60 ECTS in programming, algorithms, and systems.
• Expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2026, or graduation within the previous 24 months.
• At least one year of hands-on Java application development experience, including object-oriented design patterns and the Java Collections Framework.
• Experience with Spring Boot or Spring MVC, REST APIs, SQL, Git, testing, CI/CD, and at least one cloud platform; AWS is preferred.
• Practical data structures and algorithms knowledge and exposure to the full software development lifecycle through an internship or capstone project.
• Professional English proficiency at B2 CEFR or higher and availability to work from Luxembourg.

Nice to have

• Technical internship experience of six months or longer.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to AI/ML, GenAI tools, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or observability platforms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, secure coding, identity management, or open-source contributions.
• Additional German or Luxembourgish language proficiency and experience with Agile methodologies.
