Structural Associate

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA; position is based in Illinois for the stated compensation.

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead complex, high-impact building projects and make technical decisions that shape project outcomes.
• Direct end-to-end project delivery, including design, team management, and project decision-making.
• Provide clients with expert guidance on advanced structural engineering challenges.
• Mentor and develop high-performing engineering teams.
• Expand client relationships and help develop new opportunities and markets.
• Contribute to firm strategy by connecting clients with full-service capabilities and identifying growth opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure.
• At least 8 years of structural engineering experience.
• Demonstrated technical depth in new building design, including steel, concrete, timber, seismic design, tall buildings, and specialty structures.
• Experience driving project delivery and leading teams while partnering with clients.
• Strong technical expertise for solving complex challenges and shaping project strategy and priorities.
• Leadership skills demonstrated through mentoring, empowerment, effective communication, and client-facing engagement.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering.
