Location: Birmingham, Alabama; in-office presence required
Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead structural engineering and design for small and large industrial facility projects from concept through construction support.
- Manage assigned engineers and designers, including scope, budgets, schedules, resources, quality, and deliverables.
- Develop structural concepts and design or review steel, concrete, masonry, and other structural systems using applicable codes and client requirements.
- Oversee drawings, specifications, calculations, technical reports, studies, and related project documentation.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, process, electrical, architectural, client, contractor, and construction teams.
- Mentor junior staff, support client meetings and proposals, and participate in site visits to gather design data and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis, detailing, design documentation, steel, concrete, masonry, IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
- Experience with Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, RISA, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, client relationship, and multitasking skills.
Nice to have
- Structural Engineer (SE) license.
- Industrial facility design experience.
- Experience as a discipline or technical lead on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Experience mentoring engineers and designers.
- Proposal support, client development, or project planning experience.
