Design Manager (Mission Critical)

What you will do

• Lead the Design and Document Management functions in line with established procedures and project protocols.
• Develop and publish the Design Management Plan and implement project-specific design procedures.
• Lead design teams, coordinate discipline leads and design subcontractors, and manage design reviews and coordination meetings.
• Ensure coordinated designs align with the Project Execution Plan, procurement and construction requirements, specifications, and cost plans.
• Manage design changes, fee targets, project prime costs, resources, progress monitoring, and commercial targets.
• Interface with clients and act as a Project Sponsor when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, construction, science, or a related subject.
• Proven experience delivering complex, multidisciplinary EPCM projects in the Mission Critical or Pharmaceutical sector.
• Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen, including the ability to manage projects to budget, man-hours, and commercial targets.
• Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to lead, coordinate, and supervise internal and external teams and critically assess individual and team performance.
• In-depth knowledge and experience across all RIBA work stages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with thorough knowledge of EU building regulations and construction technology.
• Exceptional technical and construction detailing ability.

Nice to have

• Professional qualification from a recognized project management body, such as APM or PMI.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
