Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer

Location: Barcelona, Spain; business travel required as needed.

What you will do

• Maintain infrastructure SLAs and handle incident, service request, and change tickets through ITSM queues.
• Design, build, and operate enterprise infrastructure, VMware ESXi virtualization, storage, Windows Server, and RHEL environments.
• Execute system patching, vulnerability assessments, and security remediation across infrastructure assets.
• Support Dell, HPE, and Fujitsu data center hardware, enterprise applications, global contact centers, and office solutions.
• Apply PowerShell, Bash, Python, and other scripting or automation techniques to standardize environments and improve service delivery.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical incidents at local, regional, and international levels.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an Infrastructure or Systems Operations Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with VMware ESXi, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Familiarity with Dell, HPE, and Fujitsu enterprise data center hardware and storage solutions.
• Proficiency in Active Directory administration and basic Cisco networking and switching principles.
• Practical scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Business fluency in English, written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across international teams.
• Willingness to undertake business travel as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications in Microsoft, VMware VCP, Red Hat RHCE, Cisco CCNA or CCNP, IT Security, or ITIL.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools, and ensuring high system reliability and availability.
• Experience with vulnerability management and cloud security platforms such as Qualys or Skyhigh.
• Working knowledge of ITIL service management, DevOps practices, and Agile frameworks.
• Ability to propose, design, and implement operational process and efficiency improvements.
