Principal IT Engineer

What you will do

• Own the architecture and continuous improvement of the corporate IT and workplace technology environment.
• Manage identity, SSO, authentication, device management, access controls, Google Workspace, Okta, Workspace ONE, Slack, and other workplace SaaS platforms.
• Define endpoint standards for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, including device trust, conditional access, compliance, and secure application access.
• Improve global IT service delivery, helpdesk operations, service standards, SLAs, escalation processes, monitoring, business continuity, and operational metrics.
• Automate onboarding, offboarding, role changes, provisioning, and access-management workflows using scripting, APIs, workflow automation, and AI; build integrations across HR, identity, device-management, SaaS, and internal systems.
• Partner with Security on identity, endpoint, access-control, device-security, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, SaaS governance, licence management, access reviews, and audit standards; mentor IT engineers and support teams.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in corporate IT, workplace technology, identity, endpoint management, or related roles within global technology companies.
• Experience in a global, product-led, fast-growing, fast-paced technology environment and deep experience with Google Workspace and Workspace ONE or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, MFA, identity lifecycle management, and device trust.
• Strong Windows and macOS endpoint-management experience.
• Experience supporting global organisations and IT operations across multiple countries and time zones.
• Experience automating workflows using APIs, scripting, and integration platforms.
• Strong understanding of SaaS administration, networking, security, and modern Zero Trust principles.
• Ability to independently design solutions and lead technically complex initiatives from architecture through production.
• Ability to define technical standards and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level IT professionals.
• Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal, for communication with employees, technical teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a bias toward automation and scalable solutions.
