Senior ICT Technician (Smart Home)

Location: Remote; Europe - Anywhere, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, and Spain. The organization employs people from all over the world through Remote. Maintain at least 3 hours of workday overlap for team communication.

Approximate yearly compensation: Czechia 1.243.900–1.790.600 CZK; Greece 42.200–56.000 EUR; Hungary 19.376.300–24.783.100 HUF; Spain 58.600–80.300 EUR; Portugal 55.200–77.200 EUR. Compensation for other countries is discussed during the first interview.

What you will do

• Support employee computers across macOS, Windows, and Linux, enforce device security policies, and resolve daily IT issues.
• Administer Google Workspace, SSO, MFA, password management, internal systems, and employee access lifecycle.
• Maintain and secure the server landscape with the Cloud engineering team, including Linux administration and firewall configuration.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and offboarding with Ansible and scripting.
• Manage internal tool configuration, licences, and costs, including Slack, Google Workspace, and Jira.
• Maintain security baselines, conduct access reviews, respond to incidents, and document systems, runbooks, and self-service guides.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in IT administration or systems administration, ideally supporting a remote or distributed team.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Strong Linux administration skills, including firewall configuration.
• Experience supporting users across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Experience administering Google Workspace, SSO, MFA, and password management tools.
• Solid understanding of endpoint and identity security.
• Scripting skills for automation, such as Bash or Python.
• Clear written communication in English and patience when supporting colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise, and stay calm when issues occur.

Nice to have

• Experience with infrastructure as code and orchestration tools such as Terraform or Nomad.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and security frameworks.
• Experience managing SaaS vendors, licences, and renewals.
• Experience with device management tools.
• Familiarity with Home Assistant or the open-source smart home ecosystem.
