Accounting Manager (SaaS)

Location: New York, NY, USA, or remote from the US East Coast.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and US GAAP consolidation across six entities, including intercompany accounting, FX revaluation, and translation, targeting a close within 10 working days.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through account reconciliations, supporting documentation, and reviews.
• Lead technical accounting analysis for revenue recognition, principal-versus-agent judgments, customer wallet balances and breakage, landed cost, and vendor rebates.
• Lead group and UK statutory audits from planning through fieldwork and sign-off, and manage statutory accounts and tax compliance with external advisers, including corporate tax, US sales tax, and UK and EU VAT.
• Own and improve internal controls, including controls over prepaid customer wallet funds and segregation of duties.
• Partner with business leaders on initiatives, improve NetSuite and finance-stack automation, and lead, develop, and performance-manage the international accounting team.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally including public accounting or work in a complex, multi-entity business.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and principal-versus-agent judgments.
• Experience running a multi-entity, multi-currency close and preparing consolidation, including intercompany and FX, while supporting external audits.
• Strong technical and business judgment, including researching accounting positions, assessing broader implications, and communicating clear recommendations.
• Cross-functional partnership skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with leaders and teams and drive complex work through resolution.
• People leadership experience, including setting expectations, developing the team, and building capability.
• Experience operating internal controls in an audited environment.
• Hands-on ERP experience, ideally NetSuite, and a record of using systems and automation to improve processes.
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving international business.

Nice to have

• CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with physical goods, marketplaces, stored-value, prepaid, or payments accounting, including landed cost, vendor rebates, customer funds, gift cards, or breakage.
• Experience with UK and European entities, including statutory accounts, VAT, or other local compliance requirements.
• NetSuite experience in a high-volume environment, ideally including SuiteBilling and integration-driven transactions.
