Senior Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California; office attendance is required at least 3 days per week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $119,000–$161,000 base pay per year, plus additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, OPEX allocations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, financial statements, workpapers, and reporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP.
• Manage accounting for internal-use software development costs, commissions, contract acquisition costs, and leases under ASC 350-40, ASC 340-40, and ASC 842.
• Administer sales tax compliance and corporate credit card reconciliations across multiple card platforms.
• Support internal controls, SOX compliance objectives, external audits, and audit-readiness activities.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities, including the use of AI-powered accounting tools and hirify.global’s platform.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including monthly financial close experience.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to independently prepare detailed workpapers, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to research and document technical accounting conclusions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in SaaS or software, including subscription revenue models and related accounting considerations.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Public company, public accounting, Big 4, or regional accounting experience.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience and familiarity with external financial reporting tools such as Workiva or ActiveDisclosure.
• AI fluency with tools such as hirify.global Transform, Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy.
• Experience with ASC 606, ASC 718, SOX compliance, FP&A collaboration, or ERP implementation projects.
