Head (f/m/d) of Project Management GS AP (Energy)

Location: Malaysia, Selangor, Petaling Jaya; roles also listed in Australia, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. Hybrid remote/office.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and coach the GS AP regional Project Management organization and build a high-performing team.
• Own project portfolio performance, ensuring safe, timely, high-quality delivery aligned with contractual commitments.
• Drive project profitability through execution discipline, risk management, governance, recovery plans, and management attention for underperforming projects.
• Establish consistent project management frameworks, processes, tools, governance, standardization, and lessons-learned practices across the region.
• Contribute to regional business strategy and partner with Sales, Service Operations, Engineering, Finance, and EHS leaders.
• Manage key customers and stakeholders, resolve major escalations, and act as executive sponsor for selected strategic projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in project management, project execution, engineering, or service operations.
• Significant experience managing large customer-facing projects in energy, industrial, or infrastructure environments, with a proven record of leading Project Managers and delivering complex project portfolios.
• Experience in matrix and multinational environments, including leading managers of managers and organizations of more than 20 people.
• Strong people leadership, talent development, team-building, decision-making, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong understanding of project profitability drivers, project governance, risk management, portfolio oversight, commercial awareness, and customer orientation.
• Ability to translate business objectives into execution plans and improve project profitability, delivery performance, customer satisfaction, execution risk, escalations, and NCCs.
• Ability to build a strong succession pipeline and increase the maturity and consistency of project management practices across GS AP.
