TKM Supplier Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Kumamoto and Tokyo, Japan; significant domestic travel of more than 50% required.

What you will do

• Evaluate technical requirements for new and existing Best Know Methods and work with suppliers to define or recommend parts cleaning solutions.
• Collaborate with Surface Tech and Quality teams to clarify engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Participate in supplier selection to develop a competitive supply base across quality, cost, delivery, and technology.
• Lead supplier technical audits, evaluate supplier performance and capability, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support quality problem resolution, incident management, and supplier corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor cost drivers and supply markets to support competitive cost planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, mechanical, materials, or another engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry or parts manufacturing/cleaning-related fields.
• Good communication and influencing skills, with successful project experience in new product introduction, Lean projects, or quality upgrades.
• Strong integrity and IP awareness, including protecting hirify.global’ interests while working at supplier sites.
• Able to support significant domestic travel exceeding 50%.
• Expertise in a specialized discipline, ability to interpret business challenges, recommend best practices, lead moderately complex functional projects, solve complex problems, and negotiate with stakeholders.
