Data Analyst

Location: Hybrid at Flock HQ in Encinitas, California, with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Candidates should be local to or willing to relocate to hirify.global's San Diego headquarters; talent is targeted in the San Diego/Encinitas and Los Angeles areas.

Salary: $75,000–$105,000 per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Carrier Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate business questions into actionable analysis.
• Write and optimize SQL queries across multiple data sources, including joins, CTEs, window functions, and other advanced techniques.
• Build, maintain, and improve reporting models, dashboards, and analytical tools using platforms such as Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
• Own and prioritize analytics requests while balancing immediate needs, accuracy, efficiency, and longer-term priorities.
• Translate business processes into reporting logic, present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and provide practical recommendations.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and cross-functional partners to improve data quality, reporting consistency, workflow automation, and analytical processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, analytical, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 2–4 years of professional experience in data analytics, business analytics, or a related analytical role.
• Strong SQL proficiency, including independently writing complex queries with joins, common table expressions, window functions, and other advanced SQL techniques.
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards, reporting models, and analytical solutions with Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting business requirements, investigating data, and translating findings into practical recommendations.
• Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders, gathering requirements, managing reporting requests, and communicating analytical findings.
• Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing requests, manage multiple deliverables, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience using Python for data manipulation, reporting automation, or workflow improvements.
• Exposure to statistical analysis, data science libraries, or machine learning concepts.
