Forward Deployment Product Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid; employees must work from a US office hub at least two days per week or eight days per month. Hubs: Austin, TX; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and the Washington, DC metro area.

Base salary: $200,000–$250,000 for New York City and San Francisco; $180,000–$225,000 for Austin and Arlington. Equity is offered.

What you will do

• Define technical success, write account charters, establish gates, and set clear commitments for complex enterprise accounts.
• Diagnose whether blockers are technical, commercial, political, or organizational, and keep engineering focused on the right work.
• Own technical relationships with CIOs, CHROs, procurement leads, security architects, customers, and internal executives.
• Lead squads of two to three forward-deployed engineers without direct people management.
• Build customer-facing prototypes with Claude, Cursor, Replit, and Figma Make; configure prompts, flows, LLM context, and guardrails.
• Close engagements through platform graduation, paid or drawdown-funded work, or termination, while maintaining evidence on activation, utilization, and commercial influence.

Requirements

• 7+ years in product management, solutions architecture, or a forward-deployed role, including several years owning technical relationships for enterprise accounts with seven- or eight-figure contract values.
• Experience turning around troubled accounts involving damaged trust, failed prior attempts, or incumbent competitors.
• Enterprise deployment experience, including working with customer HRIS systems, security questionnaires, procurement, and stalled rollouts.
• Technical depth to read API documentation, reason about data pipelines, configure LLM context and guardrails, and assess solutions against customer security requirements.
• Credibility communicating with executive stakeholders on both the customer and internal sides, including delivering difficult news.
• Experience in B2B2C environments serving an enterprise buyer and the people that buyer supports.
• Relentless ownership, humility, judgment about what generalizes, disciplined prioritization, executive communication, AI-native fluency, and comfort making decisions with incomplete information.

• Expertise in organizational transformation, human transformation, or talent intelligence.
• Experience as a forward-deployed engineer or PM, solutions architect, sales engineer, enterprise consultant, implementation lead, founder, early startup employee, or enterprise SaaS PM focused on customer intimacy.
