Principal Product Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York City, with office attendance required at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Base salary: $280,000–$345,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Set the multi-year product strategy, roadmap, and OKRs for Search and Contract Understanding.
• Own search relevance, ranking, recall, and retrieval quality across customer contract repositories.
• Lead extraction quality from document import through structured data export, including long documents, multi-agreement detection, and bulk extraction.
• Define connected contract representations covering clauses, topics, intra-contract and inter-contract relationships, and negotiation history.
• Define APIs, schemas, and developer experience for a shared contract understanding service.
• Build datasets, evaluations, production metrics, regression gates, and feedback loops while aligning technical and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience with technically complex, business-critical products.
• Production experience shipping search or information retrieval products and AI/ML, developer platform, or data infrastructure products.
• Practical fluency with retrieval and ranking, LLM systems, extraction, APIs, data models, evaluation methods, latency, and cost.
• Strong quantitative judgment, including search relevance, recall, and production-trace benchmarking.
• Experience owning customer-facing outcomes and deep infrastructure in the same mandate.
• Ability to influence executives and align engineering, design, data, and partner teams around technical decisions.

• Experience with search or retrieval systems, document AI, knowledge graphs, or legal technology.
