IT Director, Infrastructure and Operations

Location: Rohnert Park, California; hybrid work arrangement.

Base salary: $220,000–$270,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead and develop team leads across Systems Engineering, Enterprise Networking, and End User Services, coordinating FTEs, contractors, and managed service providers.
• Own the multi-year infrastructure roadmap, capacity planning, project portfolio, budgeting, licensing strategy, and vendor negotiations across hybrid cloud, private data centers, and SaaS platforms.
• Maintain high-availability computing environments and validated endpoints supporting Clinical Operations under QMS change control.
• Direct enterprise networking, Zero Trust access, Device Trust enforcement, site-to-site connectivity, service desk operations, collaboration technology, and mixed-OS fleet lifecycle management.
• Drive AI and automation for self-service, onboarding, support efficiency, and reduced ticket volumes.
• Lead audit readiness, disaster recovery, ransomware recovery, tabletop exercises, recovery playbooks, immutable backup validation, asset management, and infrastructure delivery for office changes.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations, including 5+ years managing multidisciplinary engineering and support teams through managers or team leads.
• Experience overseeing hybrid infrastructure, hyperconverged platforms such as Nutanix, public cloud environments, enterprise storage, and resilient backup systems.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and modern Zero Trust/SASE architectures.
• Experience managing mixed Mac and Windows fleets, including Entra ID, hybrid AD, Intune, Jamf, and Automox.
• Experience running ITIL-aligned service delivery, major incident command, root-cause reviews, and AI/automation initiatives that measurably reduce ticket volumes.
• Experience managing infrastructure budgets, vendor renewals, and multi-site project portfolios.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical device, life sciences, or FDA-regulated environments supporting validated systems, GxP procedures, and computer systems validation.
• Experience with modern directory architectures and unified endpoint management across macOS and Windows fleets.
• Certifications such as AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CCNP, CISM, or ITIL.
