Staff IT Systems Engineer, Endpoints

Expected base salary: $140,000–$172,667 USD per year, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and roadmap for endpoint fleets across macOS, Windows, Linux, mobile devices, and specialized research and lab computing systems.
• Define standards for endpoint configuration, policy, remediation, observability, staged rollouts, and automated rollback.
• Build configuration-as-code, zero-touch provisioning, CI/CD, automation, and internal tooling using scripts, APIs, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
• Partner with Security on endpoint posture, device trust, vulnerability management, EDR, endpoint hardening, and Zero Trust access controls.
• Improve patch and compliance operations through telemetry, dashboards, drift detection, and auditable workflows.
• Mentor engineers, handle complex endpoint escalations, and lead initiatives across IT, Security, Research Computing, Legal, HR, and Lab Operations.

Requirements

• Staff-level ownership in IT systems engineering, endpoint engineering, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Strong experience with MDM or UEM platforms such as Jamf, Intune, Workspace ONE, or similar tools.
• Experience managing endpoint configuration through code, automation, version control, staged rollouts, or CI/CD.
• Strong systems knowledge across macOS and Windows, with automation skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, APIs, or similar tooling.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering, LLM APIs, internal copilots, or agentic automation in IT, endpoint, infrastructure, or platform operations.
• Experience partnering with Security on endpoint hardening, device trust, vulnerability management, EDR, or Zero Trust initiatives.

Nice to have

• Experience with scientific, research, lab, OT, high-performance computing, regulated, biotech, life-sciences, or IP-sensitive environments.
• Familiarity with Okta, SAML, SCIM, SASE, EDR, cloud access patterns, AWS, GCP, or cloud-based endpoint telemetry.
• Experience with osquery, Fleet, Munki, VDI, managed browsers, or contact center computing environments.
• Proficiency in Go, Swift, or another language used for custom endpoint tooling.
