Electrical Engineer, II (Hardware Design)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid work with up to 25% domestic and international travel to customer sites.

What you will do

• Design, test, and validate cost-effective hardware solutions, including component changes, PCB layout modifications, firmware adjustments, and product enhancements.
• Investigate systemic electrical issues, perform hands-on failure analysis and component-level troubleshooting, and reproduce field failures in a laboratory environment.
• Lead implementation of rolling production changes in coordination with manufacturing and supply chain teams.
• Act as the primary engineering authority for released products and provide data-driven recommendations to improve supportability, reliability, quality, and cost.
• Analyze field-failure trends, document electrical functionality and enhancements, contribute to design reviews, and support next-generation product design.
• Work with internal teams, external contacts, and customers on technical investigations and solutions; travel to customer sites as required.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of proven experience in Electrical Engineering or Hardware Design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience with Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or similar ECAD tools for schematic and PCB layout work.
• Skill in using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
• Proficiency in fine-pitch hand soldering for rapid PCBA prototyping.
• Experience with microcontroller and processor architecture designs.
• Good understanding of DC-DC converters, battery management systems, and low-power design.
• Good command of English in reading, writing, and speaking, with the ability to communicate technical concepts and collaborate with global teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qualcomm platforms or similar mobile SoC architectures.
