Manager, Engineering (Angular/.NET)

Location: Remote; Denver, Colorado

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 plus an 8% annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead engineering and QA teams developing platforms for USDA Child Nutrition Programs, including claims, compliance, and reporting for state agencies.
• Partner with Product and technology stakeholders to plan, prioritize, monitor, and deliver multiple projects and initiatives.
• Remove impediments, communicate risks and status, and ensure delivery meets scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Plan staffing across development and QA, define and improve software development and quality assurance processes, and drive efficiency initiatives.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, coach, and develop engineers and QA team members while supporting career growth and retention.
• Establish team goals and standards, review metrics, participate in incident postmortems, and support on-call and incident response.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software application development, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience partnering with Product to plan, prioritize, and deliver work in an agile or Scrum environment.
• Experience with modernization or migration of legacy applications, ideally .NET and Angular.
• Strong understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all stakeholders.
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and incident response.
• Experience with Angular 17+, .NET 10/C#, CQRS with MediatR and FluentValidation, PostgreSQL/AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS ECS Fargate, ElastiCache Redis, Secrets Manager, OAuth2/OIDC authentication with Amazon Cognito, Hangfire or similar background processing, GitHub Actions CI/CD, EF Core Migrations or FluentMigrator, and feature flag management such as LaunchDarkly, or strong eagerness to learn these technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with legacy ASP.NET technologies including .NET WebForms, jQuery, Telerik ASP.NET AJAX UI Controls, .NET Framework 4.8, C#, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with modernization or migration of legacy applications using .NET and Angular.
