Tech Lead Manager (Generative AI)

Location: San Francisco, California; hybrid work based at the San Francisco headquarters

Base salary: $188,000–$235,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities

hirify.global builds contract lifecycle management software and production generative AI solutions for enterprise customers using a large contract dataset.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building production generative AI systems.
• Own the technical roadmap, architecture, quality standards, and business outcomes for the team.
• Partner with product management, engineering leads, and company leadership to translate customer needs into technical deliverables.
• Write design documents, make architectural decisions, and contribute production code to high-leverage or high-risk initiatives.
• Set standards for code quality, testing, eval-driven development, staged rollouts, and production monitoring.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while managing performance and career growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineering teams and shipping production systems.
• Strong technical background in generative AI and LLM-based systems.
• Ability to contribute directly as a technical individual contributor by designing and implementing solutions.
• Experience operating production ML/LLM systems, including evaluation, reliability and output-quality monitoring, and staged rollouts.
• Experience with NLP, content or document understanding, search and retrieval, agent frameworks, or LLM training infrastructure and frameworks.
• Strong cross-functional partnership, prioritization, hiring, mentoring, and performance-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling a team through a significant architectural transition.
• Familiarity with canary rollouts for ML/LLM systems.
