Principal Test Architect (AI)

Location: Hybrid, Newton, MA, United States of America

Annual salary: $151,600–$252,600 USD, depending on experience and geographic location; eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define and maintain the enterprise test strategy, architecture, operating model, quality roadmap, release ladder, readiness criteria, evidence standards, and traceability requirements for the New PBM Platform program.
• Establish standards covering unit, contract, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, resilience, security, data-conversion, migration, and operational-readiness testing.
• Provide technical quality governance, assess readiness evidence, establish scorecards and risk indicators, and advise leaders on go/no-go decisions.
• Own automation, test data, AI-assisted quality, and evidence automation strategies, including controls for regulated PHI and client data.
• Coordinate testing across new platform capabilities, retained and modernized ESI systems, enterprise integrations, migration activities, and client re-implementation waves.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and quality professionals while evaluating emerging testing tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software testing, quality engineering, technology architecture, or related disciplines.
• Experience defining enterprise-scale test strategies and governing quality across multiple engineering and delivery organizations.
• Experience supporting large-scale platform transformation, systems integration, or enterprise migration programs.
• Hands-on experience building and governing enterprise-scale test automation, including framework design, CI/CD integration, and test data management under regulated data constraints.
• Experience testing within an AI-assisted software development lifecycle, including AI-generated tests and test data and the required validation and traceability controls.
• Deep expertise in enterprise test architecture, quality engineering, automation strategy, and software-delivery controls.
• Experience with distributed platforms, APIs, event-driven integrations, data pipelines, legacy-modern ecosystems, performance, scalability, resilience, disaster recovery, security, accessibility, service virtualization, observability, and evidence automation.
• Hands-on AWS experience with containerized and serverless services, managed data and messaging services, CloudWatch, and X-Ray.
• Experience with test automation, performance, resilience, contract-testing, test-data, test-management, traceability, CI/CD, scanning, and AI-assisted engineering tools; named products are illustrative rather than individually required.
• Proven ability to influence senior technical leaders and executives without direct authority and translate technical findings into concise recommendations.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, presentation, collaboration, decision-making, and complexity-management skills.

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy benefit management, regulated technology, or similarly complex transaction-processing environments.
