Principal, Software Engineering (Automation/AI)

Location: Remote position associated with New York, NY; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required. Home or hybrid home/office work requires a dedicated workspace and internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

Salary: $156,600–$215,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise quality engineering tools strategy, roadmap, governance model, and adoption plans.
• Lead implementation, administration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and operational support for Azure DevOps, qTest, Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, Playwright, API automation tools, and related platforms.
• Develop onboarding frameworks, implementation guides, training materials, knowledge repositories, standards, and self-service support resources.
• Establish integrations and end-to-end traceability across requirements, test management, automation, defects, releases, CI/CD, and reporting.
• Evaluate and implement AI-enabled testing capabilities, including test generation, intelligent maintenance, risk-based testing, self-healing automation, and predictive quality analytics.
• Provide technical consulting and mentorship to Quality Engineering, engineering, DevOps, product, architecture, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Management, Automation Engineering, SDET, or Software Engineering, including 8+ years supporting enterprise testing and automation tools.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps, qTest, Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, Playwright, API testing and automation tools, and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience integrating testing and automation tools across requirements, release management, DevOps, and test management ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Experience leading enterprise tool onboarding, enablement, training, adoption, and support initiatives, with strong communication and consulting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with AI-driven testing, Generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software testing.
• Experience conducting proof-of-concepts for enterprise software and testing platforms.
• Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP and enterprise quality engineering or DevOps transformation initiatives.
