Financial Modeling & Analysis Associate (Renewable Energy)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri, United States; hybrid workstyle; travel less than 25%

What you will do

• Build, maintain, review, and analyze financial models covering project economics, cash flows, tax benefits, investment returns, and transaction metrics.
• Support underwriting by evaluating revenue structures, operating expenses, capital requirements, financing terms, tax attributes, and other transaction inputs.
• Develop forecasts and perform valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analyses for project performance, investment returns, tax credit delivery, funding needs, pricing, costs, timing, and transaction structures.
• Review sponsor and third-party models for accuracy and reasonableness, reconcile outputs with diligence materials, and maintain model documentation.
• Prepare analytical summaries, model outputs, charts, proposals, and supporting schedules for Investment Committee presentations, investor materials, and transaction discussions.
• Coordinate with Product Origination, Transaction Team, tax, accounting, legal, investors, and other stakeholders while monitoring renewable energy and tax credit market developments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy, project finance, investment banking, accounting, valuation, corporate finance, financial analysis, or a comparable analytical role; candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, or overseeing complex financial models, performing valuation and forecasting analyses, and evaluating investment or project economics.
• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including experience developing and evaluating sophisticated financial models.
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling, financial analysis, underwriting, forecasting, valuation, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Working knowledge of financial, accounting, tax, valuation, and investment concepts.
• Strong quantitative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify inconsistencies in assumptions, calculations, and model outputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex analytical findings for senior team members and transaction stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, documentation, integrity, accountability, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and high-quality work.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with renewable energy or project finance concepts.
• Experience with renewable energy infrastructure, tax credit investments, partnership structures, transfer transactions, or project finance.
