Associate - Valuations

Location: Boston, MA; must be able to verify legal right to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Management consulting firm providing valuation, corporate finance, economics, disputes, investigations, and performance improvement services through interdisciplinary teams of consultants, industry specialists, academics, and data scientists.

What you will do

• Analyze historical and projected financial information and develop detailed financial models to value companies and investments.
• Aggregate and organize large datasets in Microsoft Excel and use Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other financial and market data platforms.
• Research the competitive advantages and disadvantages of clients across the industries in which they compete.
• Support valuation engagements involving transaction opinions, portfolio valuation, tax and financial reporting, litigation, and special situations.
• Communicate project status and results internally and externally, prepare reports, and meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with project teams, participate in client meetings and presentations, and contribute to business development and leadership development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or another related field.
• Ability to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
• Strong financial modeling skills and valuation-related technical competencies.
• Strong report writing and communication skills, teamwork, attention to detail, organization, professionalism, and ownership of work product.
• Aptitude for and desire to further develop understanding of GAAP and related SEC reporting requirements for investors and corporations.

Nice to have

• One to two years of prior valuation experience, preferably with an accounting firm or national valuation firm.
• Progress toward an ASA, CFA, or similar designation.
