Senior Product Manager - FinOps

Location: Open to onsite work in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia, or remote work from other locations.

What you will do

• Own the FinOps product vision, strategy, roadmap, prioritisation and backlog.
• Lead discovery with engineering, product, finance, procurement and business stakeholders.
• Deliver and improve FinOps capabilities including FinOut dashboards, Realm cost insights and budget-limit alerting.
• Define product outcomes, measures and adoption approaches, using data and feedback to improve value.
• Provide cloud cost management, optimisation and responsible resource usage guidance across REA's cloud environments.
• Partner with Finance on reporting, AI-related financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, savings initiatives and governance.
• Improve cost allocation, ownership, tagging, budgets, alerts, resource lifecycle management and software and SaaS optimisation.
• Work with cloud providers, FinOps tooling vendors and internal partners, communicating risks, insights and recommendations and influencing outcomes without formal authority.

Requirements

• Experienced product manager able to own an internal technology product from discovery through delivery, adoption and continuous improvement.
• Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen combined with product thinking.
• Practical FinOps expertise and the ability to work with detailed cloud cost data and strategic decisions.
• Ability to turn complex financial and technical information into simple, useful experiences, recommendations and actions.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, finance professionals, procurement specialists, executives and vendors.
• Confident communication and influencing skills, including building alignment, constructive challenge and creating momentum across a distributed organisation.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity, shaping a new or evolving capability and taking end-to-end ownership for outcomes.
• Motivation to help teams make better decisions rather than only producing reports or reducing cost in isolation.
