Product Manager, Payments (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own and manage product roadmaps, strategies and backlogs for Direct Entry, BPAY Payer, BPAY Biller, RTGS and Chequing Services.
• Define product vision, positioning and objectives while aligning delivery with client needs and business priorities.
• Assess market trends, competitor offerings and client needs to guide product enhancements and feature development.
• Partner with Product Owners and delivery squads to develop and launch complex, scalable and commercially sustainable products.
• Monitor product metrics, service levels, costs, pricing, profitability and commercial efficiencies.
• Manage regulatory and industry compliance, stakeholder relationships, product documentation, sales tools, training materials and budget support.

Requirements

• At least three years of product management experience within financial services.
• Thorough understanding of the electronic payments industry.
• Experience managing product lifecycles and applying product development frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and delivering complex product implementations.
• Experience developing business cases for new products or product enhancements.
• Understanding of revenue drivers, product costs and profitability levers, with the ability to interpret accounting and financial information.
• Experience preparing proposals for prospective clients.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Tertiary qualification in a commercial or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience working in a fast-paced payments product environment.
• Strong knowledge of payments, banking or enablement products.
• Understanding of supplier and competitor offerings in the payments market.
• Experience working with payment schemes, industry bodies or external vendors.
