Sr. Strategic Buyer (Indirect Procurement)

Location: Vacaville, California, United States. Office-first hybrid role with primarily onsite work and remote work for 20% of the time, one day per week.

Salary: $93,000–$155,000 annual base salary, plus a performance-related bonus.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the Central Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies aligned with site business needs.
• Lead sourcing initiatives for delegated spend across assigned sites to improve efficiency and deliver cost savings.
• Support tendering, negotiations, contracting, procurement planning, and compliance with procurement policies and best practices.
• Assist with global and regional sourcing efforts and the rollout of procurement policies, procedures, and tools.
• Identify cost efficiencies, drive automation, and use e-auctions and online catalogs to optimize procurement activities.
• Manage supplier transitions, performance monitoring, risk assessments, spend forecasting, savings tracking, and business continuity for indirect materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or advanced degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Solid understanding of general business practices and procurement fundamentals.
• 5–10 years of experience in both Operational Procurement and Strategic Buying or Category Management, with strong Strategic Buying experience.
• Expertise in tendering, negotiation tactics, planning, and contracting.
• Proven experience managing third-party spend and supplier relationships.
• Ability to influence and persuade suppliers to secure strong business outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP and SAP Ariba for strategic indirect procurement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other essential procurement tools.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude and proactive approach to learning new skills.
