Senior Accountant (Healthcare)

Location: Livonia, Michigan, United States; hybrid work with remote work considered.

Hourly pay range: $32.52–$48.78.

What you will do

• Maintain accurate general ledger information, prepare monthly accounting entries, reconcile and analyze accounts, and support financial statements.
• Support internal and external audits, federal grant audits under Uniform Guidance or Single Audit requirements, year-end reporting, and audit work papers.
• Prepare and compile information for tax filings, government surveys, community benefit reporting, inter-company billing, cash transfers, and balance reconciliations.
• Identify process optimization opportunities, implement accounting best practices, and streamline workflows.
• Complete special projects, financial analysis, research, and ad-hoc operational initiatives.
• Analyze operational and financial data, compare actual results with prior periods and annual plans, calculate impacts and ROI, and provide summaries, trends, and practical recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including long-term healthcare accounting experience and/or HFMA certification.
• Three to five years of experience.
• Experience with US GAAP and financial analysis, including researching and analyzing accounting issues.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, provide customer service, meet deadlines, investigate issues, and escalate problems when appropriate.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, hirify.global compliance requirements, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
