Software Development Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; telecommuting is available up to 3 days per week within the Seattle Metropolitan area, subject to manager approval.

Starting base salary: $144,000–$180,000 per year. Equity is part of the total compensation plan.

What you will do

• Gather and analyze technical requirements and develop maintainable code.
• Develop consumer-facing software features across the product software stack.
• Design, develop, and implement mobile application features that optimize systems.
• Analyze user and software requirements to assess system design feasibility.
• Provide technical writing, coding, and software development expertise across engineering teams, with a focus on product quality and build.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a directly related technical field, plus 2 years of software design, development, testing, and implementation experience.
• At least 1 year of experience designing and implementing scalable distributed system architectures and modular software solutions across the full software development lifecycle, with attention to high availability, reliability, and extensibility.
• At least 1 year of experience participating in technical design discussions and evaluating solution trade-offs.
• At least 1 year of experience implementing backend features in collaboration with product, design, business, and engineering teams.
• At least 1 year of experience developing rollout strategies, experimentation plans, instrumentation, and supportability processes for services.
• At least 1 year of experience applying code reviews, version control, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting software defects by analyzing logs, metrics, and system behavior.
• At least 1 year of experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
• At least 1 year of experience with AWS, including DynamoDB and S3, Kubernetes, Go, Git, MySQL, Redis, and Python.
