Manager, Software Engineering (Loans Lifecycle)

Location: Remote within the United States; occasional in-person work may be required, including an in-person onboarding experience.

Base pay: $230,000–$290,000 per year in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT; $204,000–$264,000 per year in other U.S. states.

What you will do

• Set the team’s technical strategy over a year-long horizon and connect it to business-impacting projects.
• Partner with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Define technical solutions and operational processes that improve team effectiveness.
• Own service operations and availability through monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call practices.
• Establish code review and design standards while promoting quality and ownership through writing and technical talks.
• Coach engineers, provide feedback, and develop team talent.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching large-scale backend systems using Python or Kotlin.
• 2+ years of experience managing a software engineering team.
• Extensive experience with highly available distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with financial systems, ledgering, treasury, or adjacent domains where data accuracy and reliability are critical.
• Experience growing and coaching high-performing teams and aligning stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; equivalent practical experience or a related bachelor’s degree.
