Product Design Intern (AI)

Location: Seattle, Washington; hybrid schedule with in-person work generally Tuesday through Thursday. Remote employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

Salary: $104,000–$166,000 annual base pay in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC; the range may not apply to other locations.

What you will do

• Contribute to a scoped design project by defining a customer problem and developing user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and refined interface designs.
• Present design recommendations, process, and learnings at the end of the internship.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, researchers, and content partners while documenting design intent and supporting implementation review.
• Improve navigation, interactions, workflow simplicity, and information clarity using established design system components and patterns.
• Review research and customer feedback, support usability testing, share work in design critiques, and iterate on solutions.
• Learn to incorporate AI tools into design work alongside experienced designers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
• Portfolio with 2–3 design examples demonstrating foundational UX/UI skills, user-centered problem solving, and the design process. Coursework, personal projects, and volunteer work are accepted.
• Foundational understanding of interaction design, user flows, wireframes, and prototyping.
• Experience using Figma or a comparable design tool.
• Interest in understanding customer needs, using research to inform decisions, and creating accessible and inclusive digital experiences.
• Clear communication, respectful collaboration, thoughtful questions, and willingness to incorporate feedback.
• Ability to explain design reasoning, share progress, and manage scoped tasks with guidance.
• Willingness to explore alternatives, iterate, and learn from feedback.

Nice to have

• Exposure to user interviews or usability testing.
• Prior professional product design experience is not required.
