Principal Product Designer (AI/Jira)

Location: Remote role associated with San Francisco, United States; hirify.global can hire in countries where it has a legal entity.

Base pay in the United States: $183,762–$239,912 in Zone C, $199,260–$260,145 in Zone B, or $221,400–$289,050 in Zone A, annually. The role may also include benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end product experiences and user journeys for Jira at enterprise scale.
• Integrate AI into Jira workflows, collaboration experiences, Rovo capabilities, and agentic systems.
• Modernize Jira’s design language and create cohesive patterns across Jira, the platform, and first- and third-party agent workflows.
• Lead strategic design projects from concept through delivery, defining customer value, outcomes, and success metrics.
• Partner with product, engineering, research, content, marketing, brand, and analytics teams to establish a unified vision for modern work management.
• Mentor designers, facilitate cross-functional alignment, and improve design processes, quality, velocity, and adoption of new capabilities.

Requirements

• 9+ years of end-to-end product design experience in complex enterprise software.
• Advanced visual, UI, UX, conceptual design, and prototyping skills, including complex configurations and technical integrations.
• Experience shaping AI-native processes, workflows, agentic systems, third-party agents, and MCP integrations.
• Experience leading ambiguous strategic design problems, customer research, design thinking, prototyping, and conceptual modeling.
• Strong storytelling, executive stakeholder engagement, facilitation, negotiation, change management, and risk mitigation skills.
• Ability to define interconnected programs, establish success measures, test assumptions, and balance customer needs, business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility.
