Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. Hybrid role with office attendance required at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus possible additional in-office days for team or company events.

Base salary: $210,000–$235,000 per year, plus equity and company bonus.

What you will do

• Lead design strategy for a major CLM platform area from problem framing and exploration through launch, iteration, and measurement.
• Design AI-powered experiences and agent behavior, including user control, grounding, provenance, confidence, explainability, evaluation, monitoring, and safe failure modes.
• Prototype rapidly with AI-native tools, validate concepts with customers, and explore technical tradeoffs with engineering.
• Build shared design patterns across workflows, search, data-rich surfaces, and AI experiences while strengthening the design system.
• Partner with product, engineering, data, AI, and domain experts to turn customer problems and product signals into product decisions.
• Influence executives and cross-functional partners, mentor designers, and raise design quality across the organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing digital products, including several years with complex B2B or enterprise software.
• Experience leading an end-to-end systemic initiative that changed a measurable product or business outcome.
• Strong systems thinking and the ability to create scalable patterns across products, teams, and technical foundations.
• Experience with AI-powered experiences, agentic workflows, search, data-rich products, or systems requiring trust, explainability, and human control.
• Ability to prototype quickly using AI-native tools such as Figma, Lovable, and Claude Code, and work effectively at engineering pace.
• Strong product judgment, executive storytelling, cross-functional leadership, and experience mentoring designers.

Nice to have

• Experience with contract lifecycle management, legal technology, document AI, knowledge graphs, or enterprise workflow software.
