Principal User Experience Design Engineer (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, USA; hybrid work with onsite attendance at the San Jose office 2–3 days per week and remote work on the remaining days.

Annual base salary: $168,000–$200,000.

What you will do

• Architect end-to-end user journeys for high-impact creator product areas and translate complex workflows into intuitive interfaces.
• Scale and govern the global design system across desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
• Partner with product management, engineering, analytics, and executive stakeholders on roadmaps, feasibility, and business KPIs.
• Own the full design lifecycle from UX research and concept validation through wireframing, handoff, and post-launch optimization.
• Establish design standards, lead design reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level designers.
• Unify interactions across Streamlabs Desktop, iOS and Android applications, and responsive web dashboards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional product design experience in a fast-paced technology, SaaS, or creator-economy environment.
• Expert proficiency in Figma, design systems architecture, design tokens, and advanced component logic.
• Active use of AI tools and generative workflows for prototyping, research synthesis, and design iteration.
• Ability to combine qualitative user research with product metrics to support design decisions and measure impact.
• Experience shipping consumer-facing or complex SaaS products across web, desktop, and native mobile environments.
• Strong cross-functional communication and facilitation skills, plus a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX architecture, visual polish, design system contributions, and measurable outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience designing high-volume B2C applications, creator tools, live-streaming, gaming, or video production products.
• Experience designing AI-driven creator features, automated workflows, or intelligent assistants.
• Experience with motion design and prototyping tools such as Lottie, After Effects, or ProtoPie.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, React, Electron, or Swift.
