Material Damage Specialist (Auto Insurance)

Location: Fully remote; must reside in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, or Wisconsin.

Salary: $31.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Investigate, inspect, and evaluate vehicle damage through virtual or field-based assessments.
• Prepare repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with repair facilities and other involved parties.
• Evaluate vehicle values, actual cash value, and total loss settlements.
• Review photographs, documentation, and repair plans; authorize supplements and conduct re-inspections.
• Communicate with customers, repair facilities, vendors, and internal stakeholders while documenting claim activity and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Must reside in one of the listed US states.
• 5+ years of experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
• 5+ years of experience handling auto damage estimates, vehicle repairs, and total loss evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle repair processes, estimating practices, and valuation methodologies.
• Experience negotiating with repair facilities and resolving claim-related issues.
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain or maintain required adjuster licenses.

Nice to have

• College degree.
• Experience handling complex vehicle damage claims and total loss settlements.
• Experience training, mentoring, or assisting less experienced team members.
• Knowledge of specialty and non-standard auto insurance environments.
