Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection (Property Insurance)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Remote-field position requiring residence within the listed Omaha-area ZIP codes, in-person appointments throughout the assigned territory, occasional travel to other territories, and flexible or irregular hours when needed.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential and commercial property claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports.
• Evaluate coverage and policy terms, applying regulations and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to resolve claims.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while providing professional customer service.

Requirements

• Must reside within the specified Omaha-area ZIP codes and service the assigned territory.
• Ability to investigate problems, analyze information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, including the ability to handle difficult conversations.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, traverse roofs, lift and carry equipment, and crawl in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required. Required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments may apply.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claim handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
