Financial Services Sr. Accountant

Location: Remote (United States)

Salary: $28.52–$49.02 per hour depending on geographical zone and qualifications; eligible for a discretionary 0–8% corporate incentive opportunity.

What you will do

• Prepare daily ATM network, foreign network, Fiserv, branch, mobile, ATM, other-channel, and shared-branch deposit reconciliations.
• Research settlement and reconciliation differences, post timely adjustments and corrections, and advise branches on deposit adjustments.
• Coordinate the accounting group month-end close calendar and monitor close status.
• Analyze financial information and prepare general ledger entries, accruals, quarterly true-ups, dividend testing, and related reports.
• Review GL exceptions, teller exchanges, GL variances, and share and loan-to-GL balancing items, clearing outstanding items daily.
• Support payroll, state employer accounts, reporting, 401(k) and ACA reporting, wire transfers, budget worksheets, vendor management, and other accounting operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related area from a four-year college or university.
• More than four years of experience working in an accounting department and performing month-end close processes.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, attention-to-detail, organizational, and business-judgment skills.
• Understanding of accrual-based accounting and the ability to analyze data, explain results, identify unusual events or policy deviations, and recommend solutions.
• Initiative, curiosity about accounting fundamentals, willingness to ask questions, and ability to work under limited supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and basic Windows applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, macros, and pivot tables.
• Required experience with Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Ability to communicate effectively by email, chat, and online meetings and collaborate across accounting and non-accounting departments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, provide customer service, and communicate effectively with members and employees at all organizational levels.

Nice to have

• Three to five years of experience in the finance industry.
• Settlement accounting, general ledger reconciliation, payroll processing, or audit experience.
• Experience with Episys, Fiserv, Concur, or OnBase.
• Internet research skills and ability to quickly learn specialized software applications.
