Technical Program Associate or Manager

Location: Remote, with hiring prioritized in Cameroon, Canada, Colombia, DRC, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom, and United States. Must be able to travel approximately 1–2 times per year to a country of operation and maintain 3 hours of daily overlap with the East Africa timezone.

Base salary: Associate level — US $92,400 or KE $52,400; Manager level — US $107,070 or KE $72,550. Bonus target: 10%; benefits stipends: US $21,393 or KE $8,454.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end technical delivery for program launches, including scoping, requirements gathering, system configuration, implementation, QA, testing, troubleshooting, and closeout.
• Collaborate with Operations, Product, Research, Engineering, and Data teams to align systems with program objectives and field conditions.
• Debug and resolve issues across the technology stack, including the recipient database and offline survey application.
• Scope and manage systems improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and recipient experience.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and financial-control standards; manage technical training and onboarding.
• Lead retrospectives on program launches and technical incidents to support continued system improvements.

Requirements

• Fluent English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in relevant areas such as project management, product management, data analytics, international development, or management consulting.
• Strong alignment with hirify.global values and demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem solving, project management, follow-through, and ability to foster inclusivity.
• Strong data skills, including extracting, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing data for operational decisions.
• Strong project management experience managing timelines, stakeholders, and complex deliverables.
• Deep comfort with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Intermediate experience with a programming or scripting language, most commonly Python, for workflow automation, data validation, or business logic implementation.
• Significant interest in technology, systems design, and building; high attention to detail; and rigorous data-validation and analytical instincts.
• Structured problem-solving approach focused on identifying and fixing root causes, plus the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders across varied social, national, and cultural backgrounds.

Nice to have

• Experience working with relational databases, such as SQL.
• Personal or professional experience with low-income and/or historically marginalized communities served by the organization.
