Technical Sourcer (AI/ML)

Location: San Francisco, United States (hybrid); Remote-US; Toronto, Canada (hybrid)

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 for San Francisco hybrid; $95,000–$115,000 for Toronto hybrid. Equity offered.

What you will do

• Own proactive sourcing for Engineering and ML roles across software, infrastructure, data, and applied ML/AI.
• Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to define target companies, talent pools, search criteria, and outreach strategies.
• Evaluate resumes, GitHub repositories, open-source contributions, publications, patents, conference talks, and technical communities.
• Create personalized outreach and nurture sequences, conduct screens, and manage candidate handoffs.
• Track response rates, funnel conversion, and pipeline health; diagnose stalled searches and improve sourcing approaches.
• Map talent markets and competitors, build long-term talent communities, maintain ATS data quality, and pilot sourcing and AI recruiting tools.

Requirements

• Experience sourcing technical talent for Engineering and/or ML roles in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment, including senior or niche searches.
• Working technical fluency sufficient to evaluate resumes, repositories, and papers and communicate credibly with engineers.
• Experience building pipelines from scratch through multi-channel sourcing, including LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Boolean/X-ray search, communities, and AI sourcing tools.
• Strong data fluency with the ability to use metrics and benchmarks to diagnose issues and prioritize actions.
• High agency under ambiguity, with a record of unblocking stalled searches independently.
• Resilience through pressure and change, sustaining quality and momentum through shifting priorities.
• Deep ownership of sourcing craft, including outreach copy and data hygiene.
• Growth mindset and curiosity about new tools, markets, and approaches.
• Excellent persuasive written and verbal communication for building trust with technical stakeholders and candidates.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing for AI/ML research or applied ML roles.
• Experience with Ashby, Metaview, or similar ATS and AI recruiting tools.
• Background in legal tech, SaaS, or AI-native companies.
• Prior technical experience or deep familiarity with engineering domains.
