Senior Analyst, Accounts Receiveable (Automotive)

Location: Southfield, Michigan, United States. On-site role with occasional lifting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stair climbing. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Own collections for a portfolio of OEM and Tier 1 automotive accounts, including high-exposure and complex customers.
• Monitor aging, manage escalation cadence, and reconcile customer statements and supplier portal balances with the ERP subledger.
• Oversee cash application, resolve unapplied and on-account cash, and support accurate month-end close.
• Serve as the AR power user and functional owner for CMS–Epicor, including customer master governance, credit management input, and dispute workflows.
• Administer OEM supplier portals and EDI channels, reconcile ERS settlements, and support implementations, upgrades, onboarding, EDI mapping, UAT, and cutover reconciliation.
• Lead order-to-cash improvements, partner with cross-functional teams on root-cause fixes, represent AR in business reviews, mentor junior analysts, and deputize for the AR Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
• 5+ years of progressive accounts receivable, credit, or collections experience, including at least 2 years supporting manufacturing customers. Direct OEM or Tier 1 automotive receivables experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on AR experience with Epicor–CMS.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, Power Query, and large-dataset reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP for revenue, receivables, credit losses, and reserves, plus familiarity with internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Ability to reconcile high-volume transactional data, identify root causes, and turn findings into actionable management recommendations.
• Ability to conduct firm, professional commercial discussions with customer finance and purchasing contacts while protecting customer relationships.

Nice to have

• Experience with EDI transaction sets for order-to-cash, including 810 invoices, 820 remittances, 856 ASNs, and 862/830 releases, plus self-billing or evaluated-receipts settlement.
• Experience with GM, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Rivian, or Tesla supplier portals.
• Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, or Python for reporting automation.
• Experience in shared services or multi-plant environments, and with international receivables, VAT, and multi-currency settlement.
