Accounts Payable Specialist (Automotive)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; hybrid work with a minimum on-site expectation of three days per week.

Privately owned used-car sales, financing, and servicing business operating dealerships and vehicle reconditioning centers across the United States.

What you will do

• Receive vehicle purchase information and verify accuracy across multiple systems.
• Enter vehicle purchases into inventory systems and support vehicle inventory accounting activities.
• Research vehicle inquiries, payments, assigned tickets, and requests.
• Research and accurately apply incoming funds in a timely manner.
• Assist internal and external business partners with vehicle-related issues.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure transactions comply with company procedures and GAAP standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in high-volume data entry, accounting support, inventory administration, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with ten-key data entry by touch.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Professional communication skills for working with internal and external business partners.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly.
• Willingness to cross-train and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in inventory accounting.
• Experience researching and reconciling payments.
• Familiarity with vehicle inventory processes.
• Working knowledge of GAAP principles.
