Senior Accountant

TL;DR

Senior Accountant (U.S. GAAP/SOX): Own monthly close activities, equity accounting, and SOX control ownership within a publicly traded company with an accent on journal entries, reconciliations, and technical accounting research. Focus on end-to-end equity accounting and stock-based compensation accounting while driving process improvement and supporting internal/external audits.

What you will do

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the monthly close process.
• Perform and review account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
• Support monthly close meetings with variance analysis, flux explanations, and financial results presentation.
• Own assigned general ledger areas and ensure accounting is in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Own end-to-end equity accounting, including coordination with external administrators and advisors, and prepare/review stock-based compensation accounting and schedules.
• Serve as control owner/reviewer for key SOX controls and support internal/external audit requests.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Background in public accounting with exposure to publicly traded companies.
• Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or a foreign national granted refugee or asylee status; temporary visas (e.g., E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J, TN or OPT) are not eligible.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with equity accounting and stock-based compensation.
• Experience performing technical accounting research and drafting accounting memos.
