Lead Engineer/Architect (.NET) - Finance Group

Location: 100% remote.

What you will do

• Architect and build the next-generation online banking platform on ASP.NET Core and C#, including system design, service boundaries, data models, API contracts, and critical platform components.
• Lead and mentor a small agile team, run sprints, unblock engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and own delivery commitments.
• Partner with Finance Group technology leaders, product, QA, security, Embrace Technology, Venture Labs, and the Embrace AI Group to translate business and regulatory needs into robust solutions.
• Design and ship AI-first capabilities using LLMs, agentic services, RAG, Vertex AI/Gemini, OpenAI or Azure OpenAI, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain.
• Build full-stack and real-time functionality across accessible UX/UI, Angular or React, public REST APIs, SignalR, .NET control-plane services, Azure Service Bus, and event-driven services.
• Own cloud and delivery foundations, including Terraform infrastructure-as-code, GitHub Actions CI/CD, containers, Azure and/or AWS deployments, identity, security, compliance, testing, and progressive delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years building modern, data-intensive .NET web applications, with a proven tech-lead or lead-developer track record and direct team ownership.
• Expert-level C# and .NET, including .NET Framework and modern .NET/Core; strong SQL and Microsoft SQL Server; and REST API experience at scale.
• Experience in financial services or online banking, with strong preference for platforms serving US banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial institutions.
• Modern JavaScript/UI framework experience with Angular or React; experience with ASP.NET, Razor templates, Htmx, Bootstrap, Orchard Core, or similar modernization technologies is a strong plus.
• Experience with Azure or AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and US banking security and compliance, including PCI DSS, SOC 2, and FFIEC guidance.
• Strong communication across engineering and business stakeholders, excellent ownership and problem-solving, and comfort working in a highly remote, fast-paced, agile environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated 0-to-1 product delivery at speed, ideally in a forward-deployed, customer-embedded, startup, or venture environment.
• Hands-on AI/LLM application development involving prompt and context engineering, RAG, agentic patterns, evaluation, guardrails, and cost management on Vertex AI/Gemini, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI, with orchestration such as LangChain.
• Real-time and event-driven experience with SignalR, Azure Service Bus, or equivalent messaging, plus public REST API design at scale.
• Strong platform and DevOps depth with Terraform, GitHub Actions CI/CD, containerization, and multi-cloud Azure and/or AWS.
• Identity, security, and compliance experience for regulated financial institutions, including IAM, OAuth2/OIDC, SSO/MFA, secrets management, PCI DSS, SOC 2, and FFIEC.

• Familiarity with classic frameworks and modernization technologies such as ASP.NET, Razor templates, Htmx, Bootstrap, and Orchard Core.
