Technical Lead .NET Development (Fintech)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with in-person collaboration as needed.

Financial software is developed for investment management firms, covering portfolio management, order management, electronic trading, compliance, and risk.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of applications and scalable backend services using .NET, .NET Core, C#, and microservices architecture.
• Drive solution architecture and technical decisions focused on scalability, reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead, mentor, and technically guide backend developers while coordinating workload distribution, task planning, prioritization, and delivery risks.
• Set engineering standards through code reviews, clean coding practices, technical documentation, best practices, and technical debt reduction.
• Coordinate Agile ceremonies and collaborate with Product Owners, QA, architects, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues, provide weekend support when required, perform root-cause analysis, and drive short-term fixes and long-term improvements.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on proficiency in .NET, .NET Core, C#, MS SQL Server, and T-SQL.
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role and the ability to lead by example while coordinating team efforts.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, especially microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerized environments.
• Excellent knowledge of OOP concepts, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean coding standards.
• Experience with multithreading, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to drive process improvements and team efficiency initiatives, with strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, communication, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfort working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
