TL;DR
Director, DoN Growth Campaign Leader (X-BAT Family of Systems) (Defense Aerospace): Integrating and governing multiple U.S. Navy and Marine Corps growth campaigns for the X-BAT family of systems with an accent on campaign health, cross-functional dependencies, executive decision support, and investment prioritization. Focus on coordinating engineering, product, finance, legal, government relations, and operations, resolving conflicts around aircraft and test resources, and driving complex solicitation responses through on-time submission.

Location: On-site in Washington, D.C. or Dallas, Texas, United States.

Company

Defense-technology product organization developing autonomous aircraft and related systems for government and defense customers.

What you will do

  • Own the integrated Department of the Navy campaign picture across concurrent X-BAT family of systems pursuits, including strategy status, milestones, dependencies, decision points, and campaign health.
  • Enable Go-To-Market leads with templates, playbooks, data, competitive inputs, cost and schedule inputs, and cross-functional access.
  • Coordinate engineering, product, export, legal, contracts, finance, government relations, and business operations against a prioritized campaign plan.
  • Identify cross-campaign conflicts involving aircraft, test windows, ships, ranges, engineering capacity, approval bandwidth, and investment, then provide executive tradeoffs and recommendations.
  • Run campaign reviews, gate reviews, risk registers, action tracking, executive dashboards, bid/no-bid reviews, and investment-prioritization processes.
  • Personally drive critical customer responses to RFIs, RFPs, CSOs, and other solicitation vehicles while the responsible Go-To-Market lead retains ownership of win strategy, price-to-win, and proposal content.

Requirements

  • U.S. person under ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and Special Access Program eligibility.
  • 12–20+ years of experience in capture management, program management, strategic operations, business operations, technical program management, or a comparable cross-functional leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading highly complex initiatives with multiple interdependent workstreams across engineering, business development, operations, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Department of the Navy funding and fielding processes, including ASN(RD&A), NAVAIR program-office dynamics, PAE(A), unmanned aviation, Navy and Marine Corps requirements and resource sponsorship, PPBE/POM, Navy budget submission, OTAs, CSOs, Middle Tier of Acquisition, SBIR/STRATFI, DIU, ONR, NavalX, and prototype-to-program-of-record transition.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and drive accountability across functions and geographies.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including leadership briefings, dashboards, metrics, and decision-support materials.
  • Deep operational rigor in integrated schedules, critical paths, milestones, action tracking, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with competing priorities across multiple time zones.
  • Working understanding of naval aviation dependencies, including NAVAIR airworthiness and flight-clearance processes, shipboard integration and suitability, environmental and marinization requirements, ship and at-sea test windows, and DT/OT execution at Patuxent River and associated ranges.
  • Service orientation toward Go-To-Market leads and judgment about when to escalate issues versus resolve them independently.

Nice to have

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and current Special Access Program accesses.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, aviation, or defense-technology organizations.
  • U.S. Navy or Marine Corps operational, test, staff, or acquisition experience, or equivalent industry experience delivering aircraft to the Department of the Navy.
  • Experience in business development, capture, proposal operations, strategic planning, or growth organizations managing multiple concurrent U.S. Government pursuits.
  • Familiarity with foreign disclosure determinations, FMS/DCS pathways, and security cooperation planning.
  • Experience building executive dashboards, KPIs, operational scorecards, or portfolio health metrics.
  • Experience supporting executive staff, chief-of-staff organizations, Strategy and Operations teams, or enterprise PMOs.
  • Fluency with integrated schedule and work-management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira.
  • An advanced degree or relevant certification such as an MBA, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.

Culture & Benefits

  • Values include Do What Honor Dictates, Live as a Servant Leader, and Pursue Excellence.
  • Servant leadership is central to the role, with success measured by the outcomes of supported Go-To-Market leads.
  • Full-time employee position with competitive base salary, meaningful equity, and annual bonus.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k).
  • Relocation support may be available where applicable.
  • Support is available for veterans and transitioning U.S. Navy or Marine Corps service members.
