TL;DR
Senior Technical Program Manager (Aerospace & Defense): Leading internally funded IRAD hardware-development programs from authorization through technology maturation and phase-gate decisions with an accent on scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and TRL progression. Focus on coordinating matrixed engineering and manufacturing teams, maintaining executive-level reporting, and aligning technical investments with future product opportunities.

Location: Fully on-site in Hollister, CA or Chandler, AZ, United States, Monday through Friday. Daily hours align with assigned engineering teams. Occasional travel of approximately 5% may include Chandler, AZ; Hollister, CA; and potentially Solon, OH. Relocation assistance may be considered for a qualified candidate, subject to approval. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment; ongoing employment is also subject to applicable export-control authorizations.

Company

hirify.global is a public precision-technology company whose PacSci EMC operating company develops energetic materials, devices, and subsystems for military and commercial applications.

What you will do

  • Lead two to three concurrent internally funded IRAD technical development programs with combined portfolio values of approximately $3 million to $10 million.
  • Own program scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, deliverables, risks, opportunities, and performance against approved objectives.
  • Maintain integrated schedules, cost controls, risk and opportunity registers, action plans, phase-gate or tollgate deliverables, and earned-value or comparable performance controls.
  • Coordinate matrixed engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance, and other teams, including shared personnel, facilities, and test resources.
  • Manage technology maturation and TRL progression, collaborate on go/no-go recommendations, and align IRAD investments with product-development and market opportunities.
  • Prepare executive dashboards and updates covering schedule, financial performance, technical progress, resource needs, and risks, while supporting safety, quality, export-control compliance, process improvements, and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Approximately 7 or more years of relevant program or project management experience with substantial responsibility for technical development programs; equivalent experience and relevant credentials may be considered.
  • Prior aerospace and defense industry experience and sufficient engineering or technical knowledge to understand hardware product-development fundamentals and work credibly with technical specialists.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent technical programs and coordinate shared resources in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with integrated schedules, cost control, risk and opportunity management, structured program governance, technology maturation, and TRL-related development objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Power BI or closely comparable program-management and reporting tools.
  • Strong executive-level communication, stakeholder management, prioritization, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience and professional certifications are accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for employment under applicable U.S. Government contract requirements.

Nice to have

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Lean/Six Sigma, or related program-management credentials.
  • Direct IRAD, new product development, or other internally funded technology-development program experience.
  • Familiarity with stage-gate new product development, manufacturing readiness levels, and DoD acquisition environments.
  • Experience with energetics, ordnance, propulsion, energetic-electronic products, or related regulated hardware development.
  • Knowledge of explosives safety, hazard classification, applicable DoD technical standards, and export-controlled development environments.
  • Experience coordinating the maturation or transition of internally developed technology into future customer-funded opportunities.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fully on-site, collaborative, and fast-changing hardware-development environment.
  • Work with engineering and cross-functional teams on mission-critical military and commercial technologies.
  • Relocation assistance may be considered for qualified candidates, subject to approval.
