EHS Specialist II (Manufacturing)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite role.

Hiring range: $74,000–$112,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and manage corrective actions.
• Provide EHS support to engineers, specialists, technicians, and other departments across the site.
• Drive initiatives that foster a positive safety culture and embed EHS into site processes and decisions.
• Create and review risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Prepare and support EHS-related activities and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable environmental requirements.
• Knowledge of pressure safety principles, pressure systems, air contaminants and exposure controls, fall protection, and other core EHS topics in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses, field inspections, and hazard assessments.
• Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments.
• Experience delivering EHS training.
• Comfort using Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office tools.

Nice to have

• EMT certification and experience.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
• OSHA 30-hour training; this training will be provided after the start date.
• Forklift operator certification.
• Aerial lift operator certification.
• RCRA/DOT Hazardous Waste certification; this training will be provided after the start date.
• Bi-lingual ability.
