Director, FP&A (AI)

Location: Fully remote; work from anywhere.

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually.

What you will do

• Own topline planning, forecasting, the weekly billings forecast, and the annual operating plan by product.
• Prepare monthly operating reviews and quarterly Board materials, including product-level KPI scorecards and variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year.
• Lead FP&A planning-system work in Planful, including requirements, data validation, revenue and allocation models, user training, documentation, calendars, and controls.
• Partner with Data and IT to integrate reconciled Snowflake and NetSuite data and replace manual spreadsheets with automated reporting.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Accounting on investment cases, ROI and payback analysis, close timing, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and accrual accuracy.
• Start as a senior individual contributor, build backup coverage, and potentially lead up to two analysts while supporting audits, financing, cost programs, and M&A.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, sales finance, or corporate finance, including managing or mentoring analysts.
• Experience in software, SaaS, or subscription businesses with direct ownership of billings or revenue forecasting and topline KPIs.
• Hands-on daily experience using Claude or similar AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini, including 2–3 examples of AI-assisted workflows that saved time or improved quality.
• Judgment to check AI outputs against source data and recognize when AI should not be used.
• Expert financial modelling in Excel, including large, linked, driver-based models.
• Strong knowledge of billings versus revenue, deferred revenue, and software revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Clear written and spoken communication, including presentations to executives and Boards.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• NetSuite experience, including GL structure, saved searches, and reporting.
• Snowflake experience, including SQL for pulling and joining billings, customer, and product data.
• Advanced Claude experience with Projects, connectors, skills, artifacts, Claude in Excel, or the Claude API.
• Light scripting experience with Python or similar for data preparation and reporting automation.
• Experience leading AI adoption or training for a finance team.
• Experience implementing or administering Planful, Adaptive, Anaplan, or a similar planning tool.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
• Experience in a private-equity-backed company, including sponsor and lender reporting.
• Experience with multi-product, multi-currency, multi-channel businesses covering direct, e-commerce, and reseller channels.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA.
