Principal Product Manager, Product Development Platforms (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

Base salary: $182,100–$290,900 annually in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC; $173,000–$276,400 annually in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia. The role is also eligible for equity awards.

What you will do

• Set the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution plans for product development platforms and builder tools.
• Evaluate whether to build, buy, renew, migrate, or retire platforms, and develop supporting business cases.
• Own the portfolio including Replit, Atlassian, and Airtable, partnering with Engineering and technical program managers on platform improvements.
• Define product and engineering support models and represent platform needs in product development lifecycle transformation discussions.
• Manage vendor relationships, influence vendor roadmaps, provide budget input, and identify opportunities to apply vendor capabilities.
• Define adoption and value metrics, develop documentation and training, scale self-service support, and mentor product managers and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience with technical products such as platforms, internal tools, developer tools, or enterprise software.
• Experience owning a platform end to end, including strategy, roadmap, adoption, vendor management, and renewal.
• Experience using AI building tools such as Claude, Replit, Cursor, or similar tools; ability to prototype with them and explain how they improved product development.
• Understanding of security, compliance, and governance for platforms that enable people without engineering backgrounds to build and deploy software.
• Technical fluency to lead platform design and architecture trade-off discussions with Engineering and Security.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments, identify important problems, and provide trusted direction.
• Ability to influence senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, and Finance and communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Experience mentoring other product managers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience owning Atlassian tools as a product manager at enterprise scale.
• Experience with Replit, Claude, and/or Glean.
• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such as GitLab and cloud platforms such as AWS.
