Member of Technical Staff (AI)

Location: Fully onsite at the San Francisco office near Embarcadero station, United States

Base salary: $210K–$285K per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Create datasets, products, and user interfaces that unlock new capabilities and use cases for AI models.
• Build internal data-tooling and evaluation interfaces for model evaluation, debugging, and data inspection.
• Develop and own evaluation frameworks for measuring model quality, reliability, and emergent characteristics.
• Run analyses and experiments to understand how data, training choices, and targeted interventions affect model behavior.
• Turn model outputs and data into clear, inspectable UIs while owning a technical domain end to end.
• Partner with product managers and customers to translate real-world needs into model and system improvements.

Requirements

• Strong generalist engineering fundamentals, coding ability, and product intuition.
• Hands-on experience implementing large language models and understanding their capabilities and limitations.
• High attention to detail and a strong quality standard.
• Ability to work through ambiguous problems, develop creative solutions, and assess real-world model generations critically.
• Primary technical stack: Python, with TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Kubernetes also used.
• Ability to work fully in person from the San Francisco office.
